The Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced that the Ordinary Level Mathematics Paper 1 exam for October/November 2022 has leaked. The paper was written on Tuesday, 18 November 2022.
According to the examinations body, some candidates were discovered to have illegally accessed the Mathematics Paper before it was written.
The authorities are currently investigating how the paper leaked as well as the extent of the leakage.
ZIMSEC said that they will only make a decision on how to proceed after the investigations have been concluded.
“The extent of the leakage is yet to be ascertained, after which the relevant authorities will make an informed decision on the administration of this paper. We urge the stakeholders of examinations in Zimbabwe to guard jealously the integrity of our examinations.
“Police forensic laboratory is on high alert to reveal anyone who is sending or receiving the question papers therefore candidates are warned to refrain from participating in this malpractice so as to avoid cancellation of results due to collusion. “
