Chelsea Lose 4-1 against Celtic in a Preseason Friendly

Chelsea, popularly known known as “The Blues” fall down to a  4-1 loss against Celtic. This match was played in the preseason friendlies which are usually used to prepare and upgrade the performance of a team.

Enzo Maresca, an Italian coach recently took charge of Chelsea, a London based club. His first match in charge of Chelsea ended in a 2-2 draw against Wrexham in Santa Clara, where there were some positive signs for the Italian coach. The pre-season matches are being held in their US Tour.

This huge loss have left a lot of fans with a huge anxiety; whether their club us going to handle the upcoming Premier League pressure.

Maresca however gave a an assurance in the post match interview:

“For sure we are going to be ready for the first PL game against Man City at home”.

Said the new and energetic coach.

He also highlighted on some areas they had to improve as a team

“On the ball it’s much better we created chances, off the ball we need to improve”.

The only consolation goal for Chelsea came from Christopher Nkunku. The player was injured for the larger part of last season.

That beating from Celtic will certainly leave a bruise on Enzo Maresca and his side. From this result, it is obvious that The Blues were outplayed.
