Elon Musk labels another key Trump advisor a “moron” in a nasty feud

World

Elon Musk, who is senior advisor to President Donald Trump has described yet another Trump’s key trade advisor, Peter Navarro as a “moron”. This is just days after Navarro said Musk was not a vehicle manufacturer but an assembler who just joined together car parts already made from other countries.

“He’s not a car manufacturer. He’s a car assembler, in many cases,” said Navarro referring to Elon Musk in an interview on CNBC on Monday. Navarro went further to say that Musk was against the idea of tariffs since he wanted cheaper parts from foreign countries.

Musk was quick to reply in posts made on his social media platform, X saying Navarro was “dumber than a sack of bricks”.

The two advisors have different ideologies when it comes to tariffs with Navarro a huge fan of imposition of Tariffs on other countries. However, Musk has a different opinion when it comes to tariffs.

USA has been hitting almost every country in the world with trade tariffs, with the latest being 104% tariffs starting today. This has resulted in China taking a retaliatory step also saying everything that comes in from America will be slapped by tariffs they will enforce also.

The introduction of these harsh tariffs will affect a lot of industries, amongst them the automotive industry, which Elon Musk is a key stakeholder.
