Former SDA pastor and philosopher Joshua Maponga is now living in Caves and Mountains.
Maponga said he wants to live like his ancestors. Maponga says his ancestors helps him charge his phone using the sun, he doesn’t run out of data and battery.
Maponga left Christianity some years ago and says he is now taking time to reconnect with mother earth. He says it’s a healing process to find the roots of our ancestors and reconnect with culture.
Maponga once said that most of churches today must be closed down and be made factories because Pastors are now forming churches for them to make money and be rich not to preach the word of God.
He has also had various concerns about religion and the demonization of the African Traditional Religion.
The former pastor however holds certain Christian beliefs , he once said
Imagine after sharing one verse with you they will now tell you that for God to bless you, pay thanks giving, pay tithing, pay pastors basket, pay offering, pay leadership participation, pay leadership training and so many programs within the church.
Christians are now working for pastors not for their families and God. They need to open their eyes.
To a huge extent, seems as if that Maponga has an issue with Christianity in particular and this new path he taking is a way to find spiritual connection.
In other words, it is now clear that Maponga now believes in his new revelation.
Many people however have criticized and called him a mad man for going to live in the forest whilst others point out that it is a public stance to gain attention.
