The Chancellor of all State universities, H.E President Mnangagwa was in a joyful mood as he witnessed his beloved wife, First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa graduating today at the prestigious Midlands State University(MSU).
MSU is currently hosting the graduation ceremony at its Gweru Main Campus which is presided over by President Mnangagwa.
According to the norm, the Chancellor led the academic procession into the main hall, officially marking the start of the prestigious event.
This year, a total of 6,479 graduands will be awarded their qualifications. This showcases MSU’s ongoing commitment to higher education and development of more skilled professionals in Zimbabwe.
The trend of the day is the conferment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management to First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa. This recognizes her commitment to national progression especially in the tourism sector.
Her thesis, titled The Efficiency of Hotels in Zimbabwe: Data Envelopment Analysis Approach, examined operational efficiency within the hotel sector.
A total of 6 479 students are being conferred with various degerees at different levels. Of this total, 53% are females and 47% are males.
The 25th Graduation Ceremony will witness the first class of 18 students graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degrees. These 18 students were the pioneers of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
