A woman from Village 1C Insuza in Matabeleland North province escaped death by a whisker when her boyfriend mercilessly struck her with a hammer after he caught her red-handed having d0ggie-style se_x with another man.
Sibanda Nokukhanya, who would apparently rue the day her lover Innocent Zwane from Village 2C Insuza busted her in bed with another man, approached the Bulawayo Civil Court on Friday last week seeking a protection order against him.
In her application Sibanda said she was now living in fear of her lover after he threatened to kill her.
“Innocent Zwane is my boyfriend and we have been in a relationship for one year. He has been abusing me since March 2022 until now. He struck me with a hammer and sometimes he beats me up with a wooden stick. I am now running away from home because I am afraid that he will end up killing me. He also broke my bedroom door,” complained Sibanda.
She said her lover was also forcing her to be in love with him.
In response Zwane didn’t refute his lover’s accusations. He, however, said he assaulted her once after he caught her in bed with another man.
“I am not opposed to her application for a protection order. I only assaulted her once in March this year after I caught her in bed with another man and this was after we had just lost our baby,” said Zwane.
In her ruling the presiding magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu ordered Zwane not to verbally and physically abuse his lover or threaten her in any way.
