A DZIVARASEKWA married man is on the run after raping his lover’s daughter, aged 13, on Friday.
The man, only identified as Baba Nelson, was reported to have sexually abused the primary school pupil after he found the girls mother not home.
The incident took place at the lover’s house along Rujeko Street in Dzivarasekwa.
Harare provincial deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova, confirmed the case saying the minor has since been referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examination.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving a minor,” said Ass-Insp Dzvova.
“Circumstances were that the accused person is a boyfriend to the minor’s mother. On May 19, at around 2200hrs, the minor and her grandmother aged 57 years, were home when the accused person arrived.
“He asked the minor to buy him airtime before he followed her outside, lured her into another room and raped her once without protection.
“He threatened her with unspecified actions if she would tell anyone.
“The matter came to light when the minor informed her grandmother on Saturday around 1700hours,” said Ass-Insp Dzvova
Baba Nelson was reported to have disappeared from his home after learning that the case had been taken to police.
