According to eyewitnesses, the troubled individual, fueled by hopelessness, carried a container of fuel to a secluded area in the nearby bushes. In a horrific act of self-destruction, he doused himself with the flammable liquid, even consuming some of it, before setting his body ablaze.
As the intense flames engulfed him, the man mustered the strength to rush towards the nearby Marula Platinum mine, pleading for mercy and assistance from the workers.
The mine employees, witnessing the distressing scene, sprang into action, bravely extinguishing the fire and summoning emergency medical services.
As the man received critical care, he revealed the dark truth behind his desperate act – a troubled relationship marred by spousal abuse.
