Carlo Ancelotti’s team were heading to Germany for their round of 16 tie on Tuesday night but according to German newspaper Bild were involved in a collision with a white Toyota on the A4 between Eichelborn and Hora. The report says there is minimal damage to Madrid’s bus and, after a brief stop to check everyone was okay, they continued their journey. However, the damage to the Toyota is estimated at more than £2,500 ($3,160).

WHAT REAL MADRID SAID

A source from Los Blancos told Spanish outlet MARCA: “A fan who was filming the bus in his car got distracted, lost his grip on the steering wheel and bounced off. We didn’t notice it. The people who came in the buses behind us saw it.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Los Blancos stars such as Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde were reportedly on board along with technical staff before arriving at the team hotel in Leipzig at 3pm on Monday. Jude Bellingham, however, was not present and is expected to miss the match due to an ankle sprain.
