Many are mourning their relatives who were accident victims of the Seke road, St Patrick’s road accident as the death toll continues to rise.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has provided a latest update regarding the tragic road traffic accident. The deadly accident occurred on the 13th of August 2024 at the intersection of Seke Road and St Patrick’s Road in Hatfield, Harare.
Accident death toll rising
According to a statement released by the police, the death toll from the incident has risen to seven. This follows the passing on of four other victims who were previously admitted at a critical condition to Sally Mugabe Hospital and Chitungwiza Hospital.
Names Of Victims Released
The names of these victims, as identified by their next of kin, are as follows:
Lucky Gwangwanza, a male adult of Unit M, Seke, Chitungwiza
Andrew Chikwanda (38), a male adult of Unit L, Seke, Chitungwiza
Tafadzwa Sibanda (29), a male adult of Unit L, Seke, Chitungwiza
Michael Munyanga (49), a male adult of Unit L, Seke, Chitungwiza
In the released statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police also expresseed its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.
In light of this tragic event, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has reiterated its call for all drivers to exercise the utmost caution and adhere to road safety regulations.
They urged the public to remain vigilant and to prioritise safety at all times to protect lives on the roads.
Meanwhile, a commuter omnibus conductor was jailed for stealing from the dead victims.
