Two brothers named Mustafa Ali and Omari Mustafa, allegedly turned into cats during arrest.and The brothers used this bizarre plan to escape from police custody in Meyerton, South Africa.
They were caught and arrested whilst hijacking a truck and possessing stolen goods. However, when the South African Police went to charge them for the crimes, the two related criminals had disappeared and could not be found in their cells.
A person who was in the cells for his own charges told the police that the brothers had changed into owls and cats and vanished.
According to another witness, Erick Tumbulu, who was also in the cells, the brothers made owl noises and turned into cats. The brothers found escape exit despite the gate being locked.
The police are investigating this incident and have also opened a disciplinary case against the officers who were on duty during time of this mysterious escape.
It is said Omari Mustafa, one of the two brothers has been re-arrested, whilst the other one Mustafa Ali, is still at large.
The police are appealing to the public to help with information about the whereabouts of the other criminal .
This incident, according to the police has been reported to SAPS senior management and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate for further and extensive investigation.
