Video Showing The Moment Nigerian Actor Mr Ibu Was Buried In His Living Room Startles Fans

Bizarre

A video showing the moment Nigerian actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, was buried in his living room has startled fans.

His funeral unfolded in poignant yet celebratory moments in his hometown of Amuri, Nkanu West, in Enugu State. The beloved actor, who passed away at 62, left behind a legacy of laughter and unforgettable performances that touched millions worldwide.

Mr Ibu’s journey to stardom began in 2004 with the film “Mr Ibu,” alongside Osita Iheme. Over his illustrious career, he graced over 200 Nollywood films, becoming a household name with hits like ‘Mr Ibu,’ ‘Mr. Ibu and His Son,’ ‘Coffin Producers,’ ‘Husband Suppliers,’ ‘International Players,’ ‘Mr. Ibu in London,’ and ‘Police Recruit’. His infectious laughter and unique style endeared him to fans both in Nigeria and internationally.

The burial ceremony was attended by a diverse crowd, including Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, veteran Nollywood actors, celebrities, creatives, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their respects.

Mr. Ibu’s body arrived in Enugu, accompanied by his family, including his second son, for the final rites. The emotional wake-keeping ceremony occurred at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, followed by the burial and funeral service.

As his hearse slowly transported him to his final resting place, a masquerade dressed as an angel did stunts on top of the car. However, the car was not taking him to a typical cemetery.

He would be buried at his home.

In a video making rounds online, Mr Ibu was interred in his living room. Mourners destroyed the floor and dug his grave right at the centre of the room. They then buried him there as some looked on.
